The NSPCC has published findings from an FOI about online child sexual abuse offences. Findings include that there were over 9,742 online child sexual offences recorded by the 41 UK police forces that responded to the FOI last year; and recorded crimes increased by three quarters in the last four years when comparing data from the 39 forces who were able to provide data for both time periods.

Making Research Count (MRC) is a national collaborative research dissemination initiative, established by a consortium of universities (including the University of Bedfordshire) and developed by regional centres. three webinars are now available.

Guidance for paediatricians and other health professionals on how to recognise and manage incidents of perplexing presentations (PP) or fabricated or induced illness (FII). The guide includes a summary of research on PP and FII, definitions and features. Topics covered include: responding to alerting signs; health and education rehabilitation plans; referring to children's social care; record keeping; and training, supervision and support. The guidance refers to statutory child protection guidance in England but is also intended to be applicable to paediatricians in the devolved nations.

Updated versions of ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ and ‘Sexual Violence & Harrassment between Children in Schools & Colleges’ come in to effect on 1st September 2021.
